Senior Common Room (SCR)
The SCR are College employees who are responsible for the day-to-day running of the college.
Jill Harpley, College Administrator
Jill deals with the day-to-day running of the college and is often the first point of contact for student queries. She sends regular email updates to all Pendle students, keeping them informed of what’s happening in college and what events are taking place. She liaises with academic departments informing them when students are ill, unable to attend exams or have to be absent from the University during term-time. Jill can advise you on a range of issues as well as signpost you to whatever you need. Don’t ever hesitate to email her (firstname.lastname@example.org) or pop into her office for a chat!
The College Advisor Team (CAT)
Students can contact the CAT at any point for support or someone to talk to about any aspect of life at Lancaster University, such as homesickness, wellbeing, money worries, personal problems, or any other issues – including if you just want to have an informal chat to someone. Our college advisors are not based in the college but members of staff from across the University who are a ‘friendly face’ and can help with a variety of issues as well as signpost to other services.
We are committed to helping you make the most of your time at the University, and are here to help you settle into University life, to act as a point of contact for advice, and to provide support with any problems which may arise. If you need to contact the CAT, you will be allocated a personal Advisor who will be there to support you – not only during the transitional period when settling into university life but throughout your degree, should you need it.

Lisa Maurin, Senior Advisor
Lisa heads up the College Advisor Team and is responsible, with the Assistant Senior Advisor, for the smooth and successful running of Pendle’s College Advisor Team (CAT). You can email her on firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01524 594308 between 9am-5pm.
Sara Mellen, Wellbeing Officer
Sara provides wellbeing support and advice, often seeing students experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties and working with guided self-help techniques based on low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She shares her hours between Pendle and Grizedale and you can email email@example.com to make an appointment with her.

College Wellbeing Officers (CWO)
The College Wellbeing Officers are available at various times throughout the week and also offer appointments and drop-ins on a rota basis. The out-of-hours office used by all colleges is Room A18 in Furness College. To book an appointment email firstname.lastname@example.org during normal office hours or turn up to one of the drop-in sessions.
Booked appointments are available Monday-Friday between 5-6pm and 7-8pm, and Saturdays 3-4pm. The drop-in sessions are Monday-Friday 6-7pm and Saturdays 2-3pm.
Pendle is lucky to have four great Porters who play a very important part in the running of the College. You will get to know them very quickly when you are collecting letters and parcels. They are here to ensure that the College operates smoothly and they check areas of the College on a weekly basis, so you may see one often on the rounds picking up faults etc. Residents who are disturbed by noisy or disorderly behaviour should raise this with the Porter, who is empowered to escort visitors acting in a noisy or disorderly manner from the College and report breaches of College regulations to the Dean. You want the Porters to be your friend! The are College Porters are available 24 hours a day during term time (although they will sometimes be out on call). Even in the middle of the night you can always pop down to the Lodge for a chat and cup of tea. You can also phone them on 01524 592630 if you have a noise complaint or are worried about a situation in your accommodation.
